Bandipora admin to book those blocking roads in protest of inadequate basic facilities | KNO

Srinagar, December 21 (KNO) : District administration Bandipora has decided to book all those people who will block roads to protest against inadequate basic facilities. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Shahid Chowdhary said that “anyone found blocking the road will be booked under law. "This is real public nuisance. Shall attract stringent penal action,” Chowdhary tweeted. Residents of Sadarkote in Bandipora had recently blocked road demanding portable water supply to the area which had remained effected for few days. According to KNO, Chowdhary took to twitter and wrote: 'People of Sadarkote raised issue of water supply today. Learnt from deptt about machinery issue. Rs 30 lakh released for fresh machinery. Online approval sent. Problem will be redressed in 2 days. Dont block roads. I am listening." Soon after the Sadarkote tweet, DC Bandipora tweeted that: Hence forth anyone found blocking the road will be booked under law. The tweet generated a heated debate on the DC's twitter handle where some hailed the decision. Others saw it ‘curbing people’s right to protest.(KNO)
